The Holy Eucharist: The Source and Summit of Christian Life
Scripture Reading: John 6:51
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
One of the most precious gifts Jesus Christ gave to His Church is the Holy Eucharist. Catholics believe that in the Eucharist, Jesus is truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—under the appearances of bread and wine.
At the Last Supper, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, “This is my body.” He then took the cup and said, “This is my blood.” Through these words, He instituted the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and commanded His followers to continue this sacred memorial.
The Eucharist is not merely a symbol. It is the real presence of Christ among His people. Every time we participate in the Holy Mass, we are united with Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary and receive spiritual nourishment for our journey of faith.
The Church teaches that Catholics should approach the Eucharist with reverence, faith, and a pure heart. Through regular participation in Holy Mass and worthy reception of Holy Communion, we grow closer to God and strengthen our relationship with one another.
Let us always cherish the gift of the Eucharist, spending time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and preparing ourselves to receive Jesus with faith and devotion.

Lord Jesus Christ, present in the Holy Eucharist, increase my faith, hope, and love. Help me to receive You worthily and to live according to Your teachings each day. May Your presence strengthen me to be a faithful witness of Your Gospel. Amen.
